The May Day Rally organized by Stand Up for Science is a call to action, a show of solidarity, and a rallying point for the scientists, public servants, health workers, labor organizers, and advocates on the front lines of the fight. The event will feature lawmakers, whistleblowers, scientists, organizers, and intersectional voices calling for urgent action to defend our science, protect public health infrastructure, and fight against the dismantling of the federal workforce.

The resistance is for everyone, everywhere. Accessibility features will include:

    Adelita Grijalva, U.S. Congressional Representative, AZ-07
    Adelita has had a long history of public service. Prior to being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, Adelita Grijalva worked at Pima County Teen Court for more than 25 years, where she helped court-involved youth and their families through a restorative juvenile diversion program.

    A strong believer in the power of public-private partnerships to drive positive change, Adelita currently serves on the boards of several community organizations, where she continues to advocate for equity, collaboration, and opportunity.

    In 2020, she was elected as Pima County Supervisor, and there Adelita developed a reputation for bringing people together to address the biggest issues facing Southern Arizona, including affordable housing, environmental protection and climate resiliency, and healthy and safe communities.

    Delia C. Ramirez, U.S. Congressional Representative, IL-03
    The daughter of working-class Guatemalan immigrants, Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez is an accomplished legislator, social service director, community leader, and coalition builder who has dedicated her life and career to advocating for working families. She proudly represents IL’s 3rd Congressional District as the first Latina elected to Congress in Illinois and the entire Midwest.

    In Congress, Representative Ramirez is building on the bold and people-centered agenda she championed during her time in the IL General Assembly. As the only member of Congress in a mixed-status family, she is leading the fight for comprehensive immigration reform and finally making a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers like her husband, Boris. Having spent nearly two decades in the nonprofit sector, Representative Ramirez understands the challenges working people face every day, which is why she is a staunch advocate of housing as a human right, healthcare for all, climate justice, and the fight to preserve and protect our democracy.

    Glenn Ivey, U.S. Congressional Representative, MD-04
    Elected in 2022, Glenn F. Ivey represents Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District. In the 119th Congress, Congressman Ivey serves on the Ethics Committee and the Appropriations Committee. He is laser-focused on preserving the rule of law, safeguarding federal workers, passing policing reforms that work for all, expanding public safety with commonsense gun reform, and promoting economic policies that level the playing field for working-class individuals and bring down the cost of living.

    Founder & CEO, Stand Up for Science
    Colette Delawalla is the founder and CEO of Stand Up for Science. Stand up for science has mobilized thousands of scientists across the globe, supported whistleblowers at the NIH, EPA, NASA, and FEMA, fought cuts to federally funded research, launched a campaign to impeach RFK Jr., and is working to ensure a pro-science Congressional majority in 2026. She is a Clinical Psychology PhD candidate at Emory University.

    New York Times best selling author, and former Acting Assistant Administrator for Global Health at USAID
    Nicholas is a leader in public policy and operations, with 15+ years of experience driving global health initiatives, emergency response coordination, and international development programs. Most recently served as Acting Assistant Administrator for Global Health at USAID, where he led budget, policy, and programming activities while managing offices and teams and provided strategic direction across global health priorities.

    His career spans leading USAID's operational readiness during the COVID-19 pandemic, managing multi-million dollar tuberculosis prevention programs across 23 countries, and working with international organizations like the UN. With legal education (J.D. from Brooklyn Law School) and extensive experience in government and public policy, Nicholas brings an analytical approach to strengthening institutional capacity and delivering measurable outcomes in resource-constrained environments.

    Todd Wolfson is the president of the American Association of University Professors, a nonprofit organization of higher education faculty and other academic professionals. For the last six years, he has been in leadership of Rutgers AAUP-AFT, which represents 6,000 faculty, grad workers, postdocs, and counselors at Rutgers University.
